Drawing on our understanding of "Strong & Stable Structures", we designed, constructed, tested, and modified chairs built entirely from newspaper and masking tape. The challenge was to design a chair that could support the weight of an eight year old child. Each of our chairs met the challenge!!! Congratulations to our tireless engineers!

Science & Technology
There are four units of study in the Grade 3 Science and Technology curriculum. The curriculum will be covered through hands-on investigations, experiments, and research projects. Wherever possible, other areas of the curriculum, including mathematics, language, and the arts, will be integrated into our science units.
Our science schedule is as follows:
September – November: Forces Causing Movement (Understanding Matter and Energy Strand)
December – February: Strong and Stable Structures (Understanding Structures and Mechanisms Strand)
March – April: Soils in the Environment (Understanding Earth and Space Systems Strand)
May – June: Growth and Changes in Plants (Understanding Life Systems Strand)
