Social Studies
There are two units of study in the Grade 3 Social Studies curriculum. Our investigations in Social Studies will follow an inquiry-based-approach where students will learn by formulating questions, gathering and organizing information, interpreting and evaluating information, and communicating their findings. Moreover, these units of inquiry will integrate reading, writing, media literacy, oral communication, drama, dance, and the visual arts.
The social studies schedule is as follows:
September – January: Communities in Canada, 1780 – 1850 (Heritage and Identity Strand)
February – June: Living and Working in Ontario (People and Environments Strand)
